Stansted airport noise action plan
Every five years, airport operators are required by the EU Directive 2002/49/EC, known as the Environmental Noise Directive (‘END’), to produce a Noise Action Plan setting out the measures being taken to achieve the END objective to “avoid, prevent or reduce on a prioritised basis the harmful effects, including annoyance, due to exposure to environmental noise.” The Government guidance for the production of Noise Action Plans can be found here.
The latest plan covers the period from 2019 to 2023. Before finalising this Noise Action Plan, a draft Noise Action Plan was published for consultation on 15 August 2018 and can be found here.
Following this consultation MAG has to submit its NAP for approval to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (‘Defra’) and the Department for Transport (?DfT?) and be published by January 2019.
